Pictured are a few of the many Community Care volunteers who were recognized at last month’s luncheon.
At last month’s Community Care Luncheon, their host of dedicated volunteers were recognized at an event hosted at Baxter Creek. The luncheon featuring a speaker from the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health organization, a touching thank you from Ed and Linda Lawrence and an airing of a recent video outlining the services provided to local seniors, helping them remain independent in their homes and of course, lunch. Two year service awards were distributed to Marion Corfe, Marily Firmin, Christina Grant, Marion Hamilton and Brenda Ryan. Five year award recipients were Gayle Buck, Ken Fines, Fiona Maarhuis, Mary Preston and Pat Schier. Janet Branscombe and Cheryl Van Schyndel received recognition for 10 years, Debbie Birmingham and Andrew Stevenson were recognized for 15 years and Marlene Thompson for her 20 years of service. Thank you to all volunteers who give them time to seniors in our community. KG
