Mr. and Mrs. Perogie Bring Eastern European Flavours to Local Markets

Igor and Inna Trotchine bring a taste of Russia to the Millbrook Farmers’ market, where they sell a variety of products including sweet and savoury perogies.

The varieties range from the traditional potato-cheese and potato-mushroom combinations to a sweet peach version.  There are also cabbage rolls that are sold cold in microwave-safe containers and Borsch soup.

The couple began their business shortly after arriving in Peterborough in 1997, when they opened their first café and began to introduce Eastern European cuisine to the area.  They joined both Peterborough Farmers’ markets in 2,000 where they continue to operate.  They recently changed their name to Mr. and Mrs, Perogie to avoid any political association

The season for the Millbrook Farmer’s Market winds up with their last date of October 22nd.  Those who would like to continue to consume these products after that date are invited to find this vendor at the Peterborough Farmer’s Market on Saturday or place their orders by phone or online for pick up at 2023 Bensfort Rd. in Peterborough.
