It has been almost six years since I began my journey with The Old Millbrook School Family Centre.

In those years I have had the chance to work with about a half dozen amazing Registered Early Childhood Educators.  Our programs have been made so much better because of our amazing Educators.  They have created strong relationships with the families who utilize our programs and helped to build important partnerships within our community.

This month, we will say good luck to Brenda as she takes on a new adventure and challenge in a new job.  We will also welcome two new dynamic Educators to the team: Rebecca T and Nancy P.

Brenda began her work with The Old Millbrook School in the summer of 2018.  Over the years, she has brought her immense experience, creativity, kindness, patience, hard working nature, love for the outdoors and passion for working with children to everything she does.

It is a true pleasure to work with Brenda and I am happy to share that she has taught me so much.

Brenda will be finishing up her time with our Organization as a full time Educator within the next month or so.  She has taken a new position that she is very excited about and we could not be happier for her.

We will be planning a celebration to thank Brenda for all she has given us and our organization.  The Open House Celebration will take place in The Dorothy Stevens Room of The Old Millbrook School at 1 Dufferin Street, Millbrook on Sunday February 25th from 11:00am – 1:30pm and we hope you will stop in to wish Brenda well with your children and enjoy some refreshments.

Please also let me introduce you to our new Educators.

Rebecca T. studied Early Childhood Education at Algonquin College in Ottawa. She has experience working with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school age children within the childcare setting. After working in the classroom for over 8 years, she is excited to share her knowledge with children and families at OMSFC.

Her goal is to focus on the social and emotional well-being of children, build confidence, and set children up for success.

Working with children and collaborating with families has always been a passion of hers. She also enjoys learning, spending time outside with her dog, and making people laugh.

Nancy P. is a Mom of 5 adult women and a grandma of 7 amazing grandchildren. She has worked with children and their families for over 30 years. Through her experience, she has learned that every person, regardless of age, needs to feel validated, respected, and connected.

Nancy is thrilled to be part of the OMFSC community, where she can help create an environment that will promote exploration and curiosity through play for our families.  She loves learning alongside children, allowing them to lead with curiosity, creativity, investigations, and observations. Her passion for being a part of a child’s daily wonder drew her to a career in Early Childhood Education.

We look forward to seeing you and your children soon.  Please visit our website at www.millbrookfamilycentre.com for more program information.
