Local Syrup Producer Takes Visitors into the Woods to Tap for Syrup

Jeremy Poulin of Red Mill Maple Syrup, is offering to give visitors an experience at their farm at 1232 Deyell Line south of Millbrook this month.

February is usually the month when temperatures climb to the levels that allow for the collection of pure maple sap, and Jeremy is inviting visitors to join the fun.

Visitors will be offered snowshoes to make the journey should the conditions require, and will be guided through the property along wooded trails to enjoy an authentic tree tapping experience.  A guide will explain the finer details of the collection processes, both traditional and contemporary, and demonstrate the pipeline system in operation at this location.

The tour, which wraps up with a tasty maple treat around a campfire, costs $25 per person.  To register, visit www.redmillmaplesyrup.ca/products. Bookings are subject to suitable weather conditions and visitors will have the option to reschedule if weather conditions on the original date are deemed unsuitable or unsafe by the Red Mill Maple Syrup team.
