Celebration of victory at the 2018 Cavan Hills Country Run.

Start training now to be ready to show off your stuff at the next Cavan Hills Country Run scheduled for Saturday, September 28th.

Open to participants of all ages and proficiencies, including dogs on leashes, the event features three divisions: a 10k Run, a 10k Walk and the 4.7k Run/Walk.

The course is both beautiful and challenging as it meanders through our local “Rolling Hills”, including a section affectionately known as the corkscrew.  The event itself has been called wonderfully community-affirming but it’s possible that the main draw is the hospitality tent.  Participants have affectionately nicknamed the event The Butter Tart Run.

Participants will enjoy scenic beauty, goodwill, exercise and great food including homemade treats and not just the most-excellent butter tarts, plus participant swag bags, medals and prices for division winners and loads of great draw prizes!  All funds raised go to Millbrook Food Bank, Peterborough Warming Room and Habitat for Humanity.  For more information and to register go online to RunningRoom.com/Events (search Cavan Hills Run), or register on the day of the event at 8am.

The event takes place at the McCamus farm located at 2111 Stewart Line in Cavan, 3 km west of County Rd. 10.  Onsite parking is available.  The 10K walk starts at 9 am, followed by the 10K run at 9:45 with the shorter, 4.7K run/walk beginning at 10 am.  For more information, contact cavanhillsrun@nexicom.net.
