Next Farmers’ Market Sunday – August 25

At last Sunday’s market, the line-up for Guilty Pleasures (aka doughnut heaven) began forming at 10:00am sharp.  Next door, market shoppers sampled sustainably harvested smoked trout.  A few stalls over, organic rotisserie chicken was on offer, next to naturally raised beef and lamb.  Across the way, stalls were filled with Ontario artisan cheeses and wines, fresh pork and prepared meats, honey, maple syrup and, of course, lots of fresh local fruits and vegetables.  It was a pretty spectacular display of local produce and products.

Look for an even greater selection at our next Farmers’ Market on Sunday, August 25 as the harvest season takes off.  An increasing array of fresh local vegetables and fruits will be available.  Come hungry and stay for some lunch and musical entertainment.

Local favourite Brooke Stewart will be performing with her stellar brand of classical violin with a modern twist.   A violin player for over 20 years, Brooke has performed orchestral works in Russia and Poland and travelled across Canada performing with Canadian indie-rock band, Hey Rosetta!

The Millbrook Public Library’s popular used book sale will be running during the market and the Millbrook EarlyOn Child and Family Centre will host StoryTree for Kids starting at 11:00am.
