August is Main Street month, where Canadians are encouraged to celebrate their downtown areas to raise awareness about the critical role they play in communities across the country. These hubs come in a variety of shapes, sizes and characters, but they are key centres of their community’s social and economic health and identity.
As businesses across the country continue to recover from the impact of the pandemic, many downtown areas are still suffering. We may have moved on, but some businesses have not. It’s time to show our local shop owners your appreciation and shop locally. Some have been working hard to bring back some of the events Millbrook was known for.
