4th Line Theatre Seeking Volunteer Actors the 2023 Season

Have you always wanted to act onstage?  Want to be part of an epic outdoor production in your community?

Have you ever wondered how 4th Line productions come to life? Interested in learning new skills and working alongside professional actors, directors and choreographers?  4th Line Theatre is looking for volunteers to perform in its productions of D’Arcy Jenish’s The Tilco Strike and Robert Winslow’s The Cavan Blazers this summer.

Auditions and interviews will be held on Saturday, February 4th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at The Theatre on Kinglocated at 171 King St, Peterborough, ON (entrance at the back of the building). People will be seen in order of arrival. Even if you have limited acting experience but are interested in bringing our region’s history to life on stage, consider auditioning. Previous acting experience is not required.

“Volunteers have been the cornerstone of 4th Line Theatre’s creative activities for 30 years since its inception in 1992,” states Managing Artistic Director Kim Blackwell. “This is where the community and art meet. This is a real opportunity to express yourself, learn and grow and join our team.”

4th Line Theatre is committed to diverse and inclusive casting. We encourage artists of all backgrounds to apply.  If you would have any questions about auditions, please contact 4th Line Theatre’s Artistic Administrator Emma Hale at 705-932-4505 or emma@4thlinetheatre.on.ca.

If the limelight does not interest you, 4th Line Theatre also needs people to assist our front of house staff to greet and seat the audience (and see the shows for free!), and we are always looking for volunteers to help backstage with makeup and hair, costumes, set and prop painting, running crew and other production tasks.  Come to the auditions, call 705-932-4448, drop into the 4th Line Theatre Administrative Centre and Box Office during business hours or email us at admin@4thlinetheatre.on.ca to apply to be a volunteer.
