Mark your calendars everyone.  The third market of the season is on Sunday, June 24, 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin Street.

The Millbrook Farmers’ Market is a unique monthly outdoor market, running the 4th Sunday of every month, from April to October.  Our primary focus is two-fold:  to provide our local farmers and food producers with an avenue to sell their own homegrown products and, secondly, to provide our local community with easy access to fresh, healthy and affordable local food.

Each of our markets features a wide and ever changing selection of locally grown and prepared foods, Ontario wines, herbs and perennials for the kitchen and garden and beautifully handcrafted artisan items.

We also have regular special events at each market, including performances by some of our very gifted local musicians, the Millbrook Library’s voluminous used book sale and various children’s activities hosted by the Old Millbrook School EarlyON Child and Family Centre.

The June 24 market coincides with strawberry season, so come prepared to enjoy lots of fresh strawberries au natural, as well as some luscious strawberry baked goods, preserves and tea.

We send out a big thank you to our June music sponsor, Dr. Larry Smith, Cavan Chiropractor, for generously backing this month’s musician – the always entertaining and multi-talented Benj Rowland.

As in past seasons, we have a number of new market vendors this year offering more vegetables, baked goods and ready-to-eat foods.  Come out and meet them, and help support your local farmers and entrepreneurs who provide us with such wonderful bounty.

For more information about the market, including a list of all our vendors, please visit our website at www.millbrookfarmersmarket.weebly.com.  And don’t forget to mark those calendars.
