Next week the Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society will begin distributing copies of its latest publication, a self-guided tour of Heritage Millbrook. Thanks to the support of local businesses, this full-colour guide will be offered free of charge. It will be available both locally, at participating shops and businesses, and through tourism outlets in Peterborough and the Kawarthas, Port Hope, Cobourg, Port Perry and throughout the region.
The booklet features over 30 fine examples of historically significant homes and properties in Millbrook, with descriptions that highlight both architectural features and some of the history and personalities of the past.
“We have produced this booklet to foster appreciation for the history and architectural heritage of Millbrook,” says Historical Society president Celia Hunter. “We particularly look forward to offering one of these booklets to each of our new households as a way of welcoming them to the neighbourhood.” KG
