On the second weekend of February, Millbrook Minor Hockey hosted a 30-team tournament over three days for teams in the U15 and U18 age groups.  Among the competitors were five Millbrook teams: three in the U15 age bracket and two in the U18 group.

Facing stiff competition, two of the U15 teams took top prize in their divisions: the Millbrook Stars U15 LL Green and the U15 rep teams.  The U15 LL White team did not advance based on a second level tie-breaker (so close).

The U18 rep team made it to the semi-finals but was knocked out by Ennismore.  Head Coach Dwayne Mackey was pleased with the performance of his team, saying “The kids played an amazing weekend of hockey, making it to the semi- finals on Sunday. Kids were a little out- skilled but skated with Ennismore for first two scoreless periods of hockey.  Ennismore ended up beating Millbrook by a couple of goals. Hats off to the players for all their hard work, the Millbrook Minor Hockey Association for a well-run tournament and the community for all the support.”

Games took place at the CMCC and the Bewdley arena with the final games drawing large crowds in Millbrook on Sunday.  Millbrook Minor Hockey congratulates all the participants for their hard work on and off the ice, and extends a heartfelt “thank you” to all those who gave many hours organizing and delivering a wonderful winter weekend of hockey!
