Back to school is here! During this period of transition that can be exhausting for families the CMLibraries wants to remind you that we have materials that can help make life a little easier. Struggling with what to make for lunches or family dinners? We have a huge selection of cookbooks! Commuting with the minions to school or daycare? Try our e-resources and enjoy an audiobook together while en route. Projects already piling up? Drop by the library and request the right resources to get you on track. Struggling to balance it all? Take a break and visit your local branch.
Looking to keep busy with your preschooler? We have a variety of activities to keep developing minds and bodies engaged and connected. Join us for Family Storytime (usually hosted outside on a private picnic blanket with carefully selected age appropriate books and activities), investigate STEM related topics with our Simple Machines program, enjoy nature with our Green Crafts, and keep active with our popular Archived Recess. The full schedule can be found on our website.
Looking for an activity for the whole family? Join our Family Games Club. This program runs once a month and encourages families to try out new games, connect with other families in the community, and enjoy a change of pace. Families can reserve a table for the afternoon to get their game on!
We invite children of all ages to join our Young Readers Informal Book Club! We want to know what books you have been reading. Our YRIBC will meet once a month on a Saturday. However, you can participate all month long by dropping off drawings, notes, or other visual displays for our YRIBC displays. Just a friendly reminder that audiobooks count as reading too!
As always there are more details and activities available in our monthly newsletter, available in print format at your local branch or on our website. For more information follow our Facebook page (@cavanmonaghanlibraries), our website: cmlibraries.ca or call your local branch (Bruce Johnston Branch: 705.741.1253, Millbrook Branch: 705.932.2919).
