Cavan-Monaghan is blessed with water, and fertile soil, and well-preserved forests and creeks, over a rolling landscape of astonishing beauty.  I am entrenched in the history of the place I call home, and I want to preserve it for future generations.

As a Real Estate Broker operating my office in Downtown Millbrook since January of 2015, I have been keenly involved in the growth and evolution of our Township, as well as the preservation and celebration of its heritage, both natural and architectural.  As a Real Estate Law Clerk in the area for the prior 27 years, I have a working knowledge of the Planning Act and other Ontario statutes that govern Municipalities.

I believe that Land Use and Planning is our number 1 priority.  Tied to this is the current Affordable Housing Crisis and a Vision for our Economic Development as we respond to the growth of our population.

Our future relies on the preservation and revitalization of our Agricultural Heritage.  I envision an “Agricultural Renaissance”, bringing innovation to our farmers aimed at diversification of farm product and service, and “Agri-Tourism”, extending not only to our existing farms, but to the development and incentivization of small business in the production of secondary agricultural products, including wellness products and services, on residentially-zoned properties.

Conversion of single family dwellings to multi-unit dwellings as well as the development of alternative, eco-friendly, accessible housing will keep our Millennials and senior population living within our Township boundaries.  Ideally, we all want to live, work and play in
our own community.  And realistically, we can do this, because we really do “Have it all, right here”.

I was born and raised in Toronto. I attended McGill and Concordia Universities, where I pursued a dual major degree in Environmental Science and Marketing. I later attended George Brown College in Toronto where I completed a Business Administration diploma with a specialization in Financial Planning.

Looking to escape the big city for the good life of country living, my wife Bernadette and I moved to Millbrook 12 years ago and we are extremely proud to call Millbrook home.

In my time living in Millbrook, I have managed at Kawartha Downs, was the Marketing & Revenue Development Manager at 4th Line Theatre, and most recently the Marketing & Business Coordinator at Nexicom. In addition, I served on the Millbrook BIA executive, and completed the duties of Treasurer, and volunteered at the Millbrook Food Bank.

As you may know Bernadette and I are the owners of the Millbrook Mercantile. Next month we will be celebrating 3 years in business and are extremely appreciative of the incredible support we have received from our community. As you can see by our investment in our community, Millbrook is near and dear to our hearts, and we continue to grow with our community.

I have decided to run for council so that I can apply both my knowledge and passion for our wonderful community, while at the same time looking out for the values and best interests of those that live here.

Vote for me at our next election and I will do my best serving our community. Thank you.

I have been living here with my husband and two children for just over four years now. Within the first three months I embraced this town to the fullest. We joined the recreational activities offered here, signed our son up in the local school, our daughter in childcare, and became a regular to our local businesses. Within six months I opened a shop downtown, became a volunteer with some local groups, helped on the BIA, and then became vice president of the BIA and chair of events of marketing.  We have taken the words of our sign that says, “have it all right here” and have done exactly that. Invest, work, and play. I have immersed myself fully in this township and would love to represent it on a wider scale. Specifically, this ward as it embodies rural, urban, and a downtown core. I will be the voice for all community members and listen to your needs concerns and wishes. Together we can grow while keeping the roots of this township’s heritage. My platform consists of land use and development in regard to the future growth rate and the impacts this will have to existing services and infrastructure. I will make sure we grow at a reasonable rate that can be supported by existing services and new ones to come. I will address the concerns of our residents regarding road safety. I will be revisiting some current by-laws that may not be up to date with our community and our current growth projection to lessen the burden that it may hold on our township members. I will also fight hard to make sure as a council we oppose annexation of township land. Keeping township land intact will allow us to continue to grow, service, and employ for generation to come.
