This Summer at Your Libraries

Now that the summer is fast approaching, the CMLibraries will be starting up our Summer Programming again! This year’s TD Summer Reading Program is “Fantasy”. Sign up at either branch for the summer reading program – add your name to our “Fantasy Boards”!

Join us every Tuesday at 10:00am at the Bruce Johnston Branch for our STEM Crafts for Kids. Follow up with our No Bake Cooking Club at 11:30am so that kids can learn about food safety while also making delicious food! On Wednesdays at the Millbrook Branch, we have Outdoor Storytime at 10:00am. Afterwards, you can hike up Medds Mountain (weather permitting) at 11:30am for a Scavenger Hunt!

On Thursdays, join us for Outdoor Storytime at 10:00am at the Bruce Johnston Branch. Afterwards, participate in our Lego Club for Kids at 11:30am, where your child(ren) can showcase their awesome building skills! Our Outdoor Learning Trail is every Friday in Millbrook at 10:00am. We are also starting a Writer’s Club every Friday at 11:30am at the Millbrook Branch so that your child(ren) can keep up with their writing and literacy skills throughout the summer. Our Book Bundles will be available throughout the summer as well.

The CMLibraries is starting up a Reading Buddies Program, which pairs a struggling reader with a volunteer. If you know someone who would like to be a volunteer, or who would like to be a “little buddy,” please fill out the form on our website.

We will be continuing with our Adult Social Group on Thursdays at 1:00pm at the Bruce Johnston Branch. Our Community Threads will run on Saturday, July 23 (BJB) and Wednesday, July 27th (MB) from 11:00am until 1:00pm. On Tuesday, July 5th, the Millbrook Branch is hosting Toonie Tuesday Movie Night, which will screen “My Salinger Year”. We are still in the process of determining interest for a Book Club that is run by volunteers, so if you are interested, please fill out the form on our website.

The CMLibraries is bringing back our Cookbook Book Club! On Saturday, July 23rd, we will meet at the Bruce Johnston Branch to sample and discuss our delicious dishes, which incorporate strawberries. Stop by either branch to sign out a cookbook today!
