This year, the Tim Horton’s annul Cookie Campaign runs this week, from May 1st to 7th.

For the second year in a row, the Peterborough locations have decided to donate the proceeds of this campaign to Community Care organizations across the Peterborough region.  This means when you purchase a chocolate chunk Smile Cookie for $1.50 from one of the Peterborough, Lakefield, Bridgenorth or Curve Lake outlets, the store owners will donate the full $1.50 to Community Care Peterborough’s Give a Meal, Give a Drive initiative and its other important community support programs delivered through branches across the city and county.

The Smile Cookie campaign began in 1996 as a way to help raise funds for the Hamilton Children’s Hospital in Ontario, and has grown to become a major fundraising event at Tim Hortons Restaurants.    Last year, Tim Hortons sold a record-breaking number of cookies across Canada over $15M, and locally a record breaking $92,608.26 was raised – which is something to smile about!

The public is encouraged to pre-order a box of 12 cookies by submitting a pre-order form available at  www.commcareptbo.org to your local Tim Hortons restaurant.  Cookies and Coffee will also be available at the Millbrook Community Care office on Friday. KG
