The Millbrook and Cavan Historical Society holds a major fundraising event every two years, and invites the community to come and enjoy an evening of fun and entertainment. This year’s theme was ‘Step Right Up!’ with a carnival flavour, and everyone got right into the spirit of the occasion.

City of Kawartha Lakes Refuses Access

Wpd, the company that owns the FIT contract for Sumac Ridge, requested access to Wild Turkey Road as one of its proposed routes for the Sumac Ridge Wind Project. Wild Turkey Road is an “unopened” municipal road allowance.

Councillor Tim Belch and his father Dr. Bill (Willoughby) Belch came to the February meeting of the Historical Society in the Centennial Place Fireside Lounge, and heard about the plans for the March 22 fundraiser.
