by: Celia Hunter It was a triumph of a collaborative effort last Tuesday as volunteer groups and agencies teamed up to offer a variety of services around a Meet Your Needs Day at the Old Millbrook School.

The four Public Schools that participated in the Remembrance Day Poster, Essay and Poem Contest were Millbrook South Cavan, North Cavan, Rolling Hills and James Strath.

In the midst of a winter storm last Tuesday, November 19, a sizeable crowd was on hand at the Pontypool Community Centre when local presenters were given their chance to speak at the Environmental Review Tribunal Hearing into the Sumac Ridge Industrial Wind Turbines project.

Millbrook’s long-standing fundraising concert series, The Give a Hoot Café, raised a generous cash contribution and hundreds of foodstuffs for the Millbrook & District Food Share on Saturday, November 15.
