Karen Graham Cavan Monaghan Library’s CEO/Librarian Karla Buckborough and the libraries’ Storytime host Lindsay Molloy organized a reading event last Saturday morning that invited Cavan Monaghan council members to join children at the library with their favourite childhood book.

Celia Hunter Fraserville resident Gerri Manley decided 15 years ago to make a career change. She had won accolades in her position at Milltronics for her outstanding customer service skills, and she was interested in finding a new outlet for her talents and interests.

Andy Harjula At the Environmental Review Tribunal (ERT) hearings appealing the approval of the Sumac Ridge Industrial Wind Turbine project, Dr. Judith Girard presented testimony regarding the value of hedgerows to Song Sparrows, which was the subject of her thesis.

Karen Graham Many local grade 9 and 10 students were members of this year’s Junior Football team at Crestwood, who had a remarkable year: after an undefeated season, they went on to win at COSSA (Central Ontario Secondary School Athletics), which was also won by the Crestwood Senior Football team.

Community Policing volunteers Paul Money and Andy Harjula monitored traffic on Hutchison Drive, one half kilometre north of County Road 21, for about one hour this past Saturday and measured the speed of 100 passing cars.
