The hockey season has not yet reached its conclusion, but many volunteers with the Millbrook District Minor Hockey Association (MDMHA) have already turned their attention to golf, and they are hoping they can count on the community once again to support the 3rd Annual Millbrook Minor Hockey Association Golf Tournament. This year’s event is happening June 17th, at Baxter Creek Golf Club in Fraserville with a 1 pm shotgun start.
Support of this event can be provided in a variety of ways: as a player participant; a prize sponsor; or by committing to one of the many levels of tournament sponsorship ranging from Platinum to Bronze. Any level of participation helps MDMHA put kids on the ice and supports their development as players involved in Canada’s national pastime and passion.
According to MDMHA Fundraising Convener, Ashley Metcalf, “Any support provided contributes greatly. Funds raised will be used in offsetting the cost of our Skills Development program, to support for our financial assistance program to ensure less fortunate children get to experience Canada’s number 1 pastime and to provide funds that allow us to replace equipment while keeping the game affordable for all families in our community.”
Player registration fee is just $135.00 and includes lunch, green fees for 19 holes of golf with power cart, a chance to win many great prizes and a phenomenal steak dinner! As in previous years there will be several chances at hole-in-one wins for large cash prizes and vehicles as well as a silent auction. New this year will be a “Player’s Passport” available to all golfers that will allow participation in all of the “on course” contests and events. All in all, it is a great day of golf and fun in support of a great cause.
