North Cavan Public School Families chose to celebrate the season at the CMCC last month. For several hours during the evening of December 5th, they took over the facility with a wide variety of activities organized by the parents of their local School Council. These students embraced the event, choosing their own unique Christmas wardrobes and accessories to reflect their festive spirit.

Lions’ Breakfast: Sunday, January 25th from 8:30 until noon at the Lions’ Den, at the corner of Larmer Line and Cty Rd. 10. Bacon and eggs, hash browns, peameal bacon, baked beans, toast and jam, fruit salad, beverages. Adults $12.50, kids 6-12 $8, kids under 6 eat free. 

Tea at Two: Wednesday, January 28th at 2:00 pm. at Bethany United Church. Speaker from Youth Emergency Shelter in Peterborough.  Donations welcomed. Wish list on their website www.yesshelter.ca Light Refreshments served.

‘Remember when THAT happened?  Thursday, January 29, 1-3 pm at the Millbrook branch of Cavan Monaghan Libraries, Old Millbrook School.  Join the Historical Society for a Lunch & Learn, as we explore how to capture some of the local stories that give colour and texture to this place where we live.  Come and tell a few tales or just listen in.  Free, and fun!  Info: millbrookcavanhs.org

Luncheon: Friday, Jan 9th  and 23rd 11:30 to 1:30 pm.  Menue TBD. 

Coffee Club: Tuesdays from 8:30 to 10:30.  Come and enjoy a morning of comradeship. Coffee, tea and muffins, $2.  Everyone welcome.

Dart League:  Wednesdays register at 7:30pm, play at 8 pm, $5 per person, everyone welcome!

Activities – Children & Youth

EarlyON Family Centre Programs:  offered at the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin St., Millbrook

Mondays: Music and Movement from 10 am to 11 am on the 2nd floor offering songs, dances and instruments to get youngsters moving. 

Open Gym at 12:30 pm for infants up to 18 months.

Tuesdays and Thursdays: Stay and Play, 9am to 1:30 pm.

Wednesdays: Infant Stay and Plan 11am to 2pm for play based drop-in program for infants up to 12 months old. 

Sundays: Stay and Play from 9:30 am until noon for children up to six years old.
