The Baxter Creek Watershed Alliance (BCWA) (baxtercreekwatershed.org) will be hosting a public forum and everyone is invited! Learn more about community involvement in local water protection, environmental conservation and land stewardship on Monday September 26th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the Millbrook Legion located at 9 King Street in Millbrook. This is an important event sure to be of interest to long-time residents as well as newcomers. It is a free event intended for all ages. There will be delicious treats and refreshments to enjoy while talking to various organizations and while watching the special visual presentation.

There will be a PowerPoint presentation by BCWA at 7 pm providing information on this new non-profit organization plus how conserving and enhancing the local watershed and natural environment right now is so vitally important.  Information will also be provided about BCWA’s community projects such as the goal of the conservation of the old Millbrook jail lands and how members of the public can become involved in these projects. Resident input is crucial – have your say!

There will also be information and display tables manned by partnered and supportive organizations invited by BCWA to participate in this event– Kawartha Land Trust, Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA), Trout Unlimited, The Needler’s Common/Town Square Project, CM Futurewatch and Ontario Headwaters Institute.

Learn more about the significance of local interconnected water sources and natural heritage systems and how everyone can play a role in ensuring a healthy environment in order to provide a safe and liveable future that will benefit many generations of both human and wild life!
