Kevin Gunther tests out one of their new golf simulators and was impressed its accuracy in reading his shots.

Three golf simulators have been installed in the clubhouse of Baxter Creek Golf Club on Cedar Valley Road in Cavan-Monaghan.

Golf Pro Kevin Gunther and his son who is a competitive player, have tried them out and are quite impressed by the accuracy of the read of their shots.

Players must call for a booking of one hour per golfer.  This does not mean you golf by yourself- it’s an estimation of how long it takes to play a round of 18 holes.  A group of four can usually finish a round on any of the 95 courses available on the simulators in four hours.  The cost per round is $35.

The simulators include well-known courses from around the world.  Want to play a course in Australia?  How about Korea or Namibia?  Among the better-known courses available are Gleneagles in Scotland, Tory Pines, and two of North Carolina’s Pinehurst courses.  Sorry, no Pebble Beach, Augusta National, or Old Course at St. Andrews.

The accuracy of the simulators mean they won’t instantly transform you into a better golfer but with the immediate feedback provided after every shot, there’s an opportunity to learn something about your game.

For most participants, the simulators will provide an opportunity for fun.  Up to twelve golfers can be playing at once, and snacks and drinks will be available to celebrate the lowest score.  Play will be available from 8 am to 8 pm every day.  Book your time by calling the course at 705-932-8888.  KG
