Volunteering Builds Abundance for Us

Timmi Brady is one of the many volunteers at Millbrook Community Care,

We can’t say it enough, it’s our volunteers that make the difference and allow us to grow our reach.

Without the over 750 local volunteers and brokered helpers contributing over 91,000 hours of service to clients and our agency, we simply wouldn’t be able to do the work that we do in the City and County of Peterborough.

Meet Timmi Brady.  Timmi has been a volunteer with our Millbrook service office since December 2014.  Originally from Barrie, she relocated to Millbrook in November 2014 and was out exploring the downtown, checking out the shops and local establishments on the main street and popped into our thrift store there.

“I heard the ladies in the thrift store mentioning that they needed drivers,” said Timmi.  “I told them that I had time to drive and within a month I became a volunteer driver.  I love the conversations that I have with the clients in the car, learning about their history, their lives and their experiences.”

Timmi also volunteers with fundraising and is a ticket seller, extraordinaire.  You will find her attending many local events at Community Care booths, and selling 50/50 tickets to support the Millbrook office.

“I am so impressed with the impact that Community Care has on this community it’s an agency like no other,” added Timmi.  “Volunteering doesn’t have to take up a lot of your time, even an hour or two makes a big impact and helps Community Care clients.”
