The Township of Cavan Monaghan, together with Hydro One Networks Inc. (Hydro One) are excited to announce the launch of new outdoor beach volleyball courts.
Their completion marks the first serve in an exciting new chapter for recreation and community connection.
“We are very happy to see these volleyball courts become anew amenity for our community as we continue the recreational development of the CMCC lands,” said Mayor Matthew Graham. “I have to also thank Hydro One for their grant funding which allowed these courts to be built in our community so quickly.”
Hydro One’s $100,000 contribution supported the construction of the new courts and reflects the value of working together to expand local recreation opportunities and improve the quality of life. The company continues to invest in the region through both community partner-ships and critical infrastructure projects, including the proposed Durham Kawartha Power Line. Once built, the line will helpmeet increasing electricity demand across central and eastern Ontario and support future economic growth and development.

Just as important are partnerships we build with the municipalities for important initiatives like these new beach volleyball courts, which help build strong, connected communities.”
The Township officially launched the courts with a ceremonial “First Serve” on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the Cavan Monaghan Community Centre.
