This Month at Your Libraries – April

Photo Supplied. There’s more to do than read at our local libraries, where clients can learn to sew, knit, speak French, and get more comfortable with technology.

Spring has arrived and so has a great selection of activities for all ages at the CM Libraries.

On April 2nd we will be starting off the month with our ‘Toonie Tuesday’ feature film, “If Beale Street Could Talk”. The show starts at 6:30pm at the Millbrook Branch. For the April 5th PA Day we have programming available at the Millbrook Branch for teens and preteens with our ‘Fashion Friday’ theme. There will be various fashion themed challenges, plus you can make your own beanie or pajama pants using the library’s sewing machine. For those looking to get outside there will be an educational story walk available on the Millbrook Valley Trails adjacent to the Millbrook Branch, followed by refreshments at the library. For our PA Day movie, Friday, April 5th at 2:30pm, we are letting our patrons decide between 2 PG rated movies: Bumblebee or Aquaman. Vote online via our Facebook poll or drop into a branch and cast your vote. Results will be posted Tuesday, April 2nd on our Facebook page.  On Saturday, April 6th at 10:00am we will be partnering with Centennial Place to host our Knit it Forward Club. Join us in their cozy Fireside Lounge and cast on a cute knitted toy project (they make great Easter gifts). Our Sew and Sip will take place at the Millbrook Branch on Saturday, April 6th at 11:00am, this month’s pattern is a pair of harem style shorts with sizes ranging from infant up to 6 years old.
