This Month at Our Libraries – December 2020

Dear Current and Future Patrons of the Cavan-Monaghan Libraries:

On behalf of the Board and Staff of the CM Libraries, I want to wish you a safe holiday season.

This has definitely not been the year that we had planned for but what a year it has been! We thank-you for your patience and understanding as we have all had to adjust. Our safety measures have included rearranging furniture, cohorting of staff, extra cleaning measures and quarantining returned materials.

During this time, we have added more online content to our collection, moved to curbside pickup and outdoor programming. Huge kudos to Melanie and our student staff, Madison and Isabella, for successfully providing programming in ways we never thought possible.

We were excited to welcome you back into the branches on August 18th! We enjoyed the conversations and catching up.

Through the fall, Melanie, Madison and Isabella have done an awesome job with the outdoor and online programming. Melanie’s Facebook story times are still happening every Thursday and Friday morning about 10:15. Always interesting to see if Ella or Scotch the dog make a cameo appearance.

As we all navigate through these difficult times, the CMLibraries will be adjusting our schedules based on the new colour-coded framework provided by the Ontario Government. Changes to our schedule and how we conduct business will be posted on our website and our social media. I encourage you to visit our page to read our newsletter and to follow us on Facebook for the most up to date information.

For December we will be offering take-home crafts for adults and children, our Learning Trails will continue as well as conversations in our Facebook Groups. Thank-you to everyone who has joined in our programming, if you haven’t, we invite you to try out some of our virtual or outdoor programming.

The CMLibraries will be closed from December 24th at 1pm until 2pm on January 5th. During this time, the drop boxes at both locations will be closed. Please keep your library books at home and return them when we reopen.

Again, we wish you a safe holiday season.
