This Month at our Libraries – August 2019

What a fun-filled summer this has been so far at the CMLibraries, and there is one more month of fun to come!

Who loves a yard sale?! You’re in luck the Millbrook Branch will be hosting an indoor yard sale fundraiser on August 10th from 9am – 1pm. That means you can shop in the comfort of air conditioning and not have to worry about inclement weather! EVERYTHING in the sale will be $2, and smaller items will be bundled to ensure you get a bang for your buck. There will be many new items and some that are gently used, with over 800 items available, there is sure to be something for everyone. Stop by our refreshment table and enjoy a cold glass of lemonade. Please bring your own bag, as well as an abundance of loonies and toonies.

Save the bees! Teens and Tech hosted by Amara and Locklan McFadden will be making a PSA during their monthly program on Tuesday, August 6th at 4:00pm at the Millbrook Branch. Come and let your creativity flow during this hands on collaborative project. Learn to complete a story board, use the green screen app DoInk and then add the finishing touches in iMovie. This program is recommended, but not limited to ages 8 and up.

Summer has been flying by, even with back to school in sight we still have amazing daily programs available! Want to try your hand at coding? Feeling creative? Looking for a challenge? We have something for everyone! Also, be sure to save the date for our end of TD Summer Reading Club program. There are a few weeks left to read your heart out and earn ballots to enter in for the end of summer prize for most pages read. We will have lots of activities, games, and of course snacks. Hope to see you Saturday, August 24th at 11:00am to celebrate all the amazing reading journeys and fun programs and projects that everyone has enjoyed over the summer.

Please note the library will be closed from August 27th – August 31st. Electronic resources will be available and we encourage you to utilize them during this week. If you are unsure how to access them, grab your device and pop into either branch to get connected.
