For all of you Millbrook Farmers’ Market lovers out there, we have good news!  The Market is back!  An eager and excited group of market vendors will be staging an early comeback on Sunday, April 24th.  About a dozen or so earlybird vendors are ready to kick off another great season at the Millbrook Farmers’ Market.

We are excited to welcome back our wonderful cast of local growers and producers.  This year you will also discover a few new vendors who have joined the fray.  Our full complement will likely number over 25 vendors, offering a fantastic selection of fresh and delicious foods, most of it grown and produced right here in our own township and immediate surroundings.

Look too for some new special events this season.  Our April market will feature a local Seed Swap to coincide with Earth Day activities also being held at the Old Millbrook School on April 24th.   A compost workshop and the Millbrook and Area Garden Club’s Spring Plant Sale will take place at our May market.  In June, we will host a Strawberry Tea.  July will give a special nod to our local meat vendors at the Meat Your Maker Market.  Harvest Market celebrations will take place in August.  September is our Pickled and Preserved Market, followed by an early Halloween October market.

This year we will be raffling off a highly coveted and tantalizing basket of products generously donated by our vendors.  Tickets will be sold at each market, with the draw taking place at the October market.  Funds raised will be used to help pay for extra market expenses such as tents and seating for customers.

Of special note to local non-profits, the Millbrook Farmers’ Market sets aside one free space at each market for local not-for-profit organizations to use for promotional and/or fundraising purposes.  If anyone is interested in securing a space, please let us know.

Market dates this season remain the 4th Sunday of each month, April to October (with the exception of May).  In May, the market will be held the 5th Sunday to avoid the Victoria Day long weekend.  As usual, you can expect to hear some extraordinary local musicians and find some great cheap reads at the Millbrook Library’s occasional book sales.

The dates to mark in your calendar are:  April 24th, May 29th, June 26th, July 24th, Aug. 28th, Sept. 25th and Oct. 23rd.  Market hours are 10:00am to 1:30pm.  You will find us in the parking lot of the Old Millbrook School, 1 Dufferin Street, rain or shine (or snow).  We can be reached at milllbrookfarmersmkt@gmail.com or (705) 559-5293.
