Julia Scaringi, left and Kiana Bromley on the set of a rehearsal for the July
production of The Housekeeper at the 4th Line Theatre. Written by Ian McLachlan and Robert Winslow, the play runs from July 1st to 19th and is the fourth in the playwrights’ series of plays about Barnardo children and their integration into Canada. The mystery is set in Millbrook in
1955 and follows newcomer Eleanor Gwyn who is looking for a fresh start in a new job as a housekeeper for a well-known local widower. Romance/suspicion and humour ensues. While this production is recommended for audiences 16+, but it’s tamer than most current television police dramas.
