The Peterborough Guild of Arts & Crafts is hosting its49th show the last weekend of October. Called “The Hand of Man Art & Craft Sale”, it was named because the Guild was founded by a group of artisans who made items by hand. This is the largest and longest-running annual art and craft show in the area, offering a wide variety of products.
The Hand of Man started as a platform for the Guild members to showcase and sell their handmade items. Over the years, the event has grown to include non-members who share their love of painting, sewing, baking, woodworking, pottery, fibre art, and more. This must-see event continues to be a multi-generational, family- friendly craft show. Among the vendors are jewelry makers, knitters, quilters, bakers, soap-makers, authors, potters, weavers and creators of home décor. Drop in to do some early Christmas shopping to find one-of-a-kind gifts for those hard to surprise people on your list.
The event takes place 8pm, Saturday Oct. 31st from 9 am until 4pm and November 1st from 11 am until 4pm at the Morrow building in Peterborough.
Admission is $5 with children under 12 free of charge. A portion of the proceeds from admission sales are donated to local charities that support people in need, including shelters, Kawartha Food Share and the Salvation Army’s Christmas hamper program.
