To conclude our Seniors Community Grant, we have an exciting lineup of workshops and Lunch & Learns at our Millbrook Branch! Join us on Wednesday, June 5th from 1:00-3:00pm for our Lunch & Learn: Dori Senos. Dori is a death doula who will be discussing a variety of topics, such as navigating the health care system and planning your death your way. Dori will also have resources for loved ones and caregivers of the dying. On Wednesday, June 12thfrom 1:00-3:00pm, we will be welcoming back Care Archbold for an Expressive Art Therapist Workshop. Back in November, Care led us through a series of art workshops that focused on creating visual memoirs. We drew maps of where we grew up, created blind drawings of ourselves, used magazines to create poetry, and drew lifelines. Stay tuned to find out what we will be doing this time!
For our last Lunch & Learn, Adelle Purdham will be coming back on Wednesday, June 19th from 1:00-3:00pm. Adelle (writer, teacher, and parent disability advocate) will be chatting about the memoir writing process and what it was like for her to write her own book, “I Don’t Do Disability And Other Lies I’ve Told Myself.” Finally, we will be having a Book Launch on Wednesday, June 26th from 1:00-3:00pm. Help us celebrate the conclusion of our Seniors Community Grant by helping us thank those who participated in Collecting our Stories. Light refreshments will be provided as well as copies of the book to the participants.

Get ready for a prehistoric party of epic proportions!
As part of our adult programming, we will be making a Pop-Up Flower Greeting Card during our June Creativebug Workshop. We will be meeting at the Millbrook Branch on Wednesday, June 12th at 3:00pm. While the activity is geared towards adults, children are more than welcome to join in as well. Later in the week on Saturday, June 15th, come on a Road Trip with us as part of our Community Crafters group!
