It may be hard to tell somedays, but it is actually spring! And with the start of spring comes our Starting from Seed Workshop facilitated by Joan and Chris from the Peterborough & Area Master Gardeners. Due to its popularity, there are two dates that you can choose from: Wednesday, April 8th from 10:15am-12:15pm a tour Millbrook Branch or Saturday, April 11th from 10:30am-12:30pm at our Bruce Johnston Branch. *Saturday is currently full, but if you put your name on the waitlist, you may be able to get into the workshop.* Learn the basics of starting seeds indoors and come away with a container planted and ready to germinate.
This spring, we are starting anew book club at our Bruce Johnston Branch. Join library staff on Saturday, April 11th at 1:30pm to chat about “The Spellshop” by Sarah Beth Durst. Did not end up finishing the book? No problem! Come anyway and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and chat with likeminded book enthusiasts. Copies are currently available at our Bruce Johnston Branch.
Also this spring, library staff will be participating in the Earth Day Event at the Cavan Monaghan Community Centre on Saturday, April 18th from 12:00-4:00pm. Stop by our table to say hi and to see what sustain-able items we have as part of our library collection and as part of our Library of Things. We will also have some beautiful papercraft creations that Judi has made over the years, including an amazing 3D origami swan. Stay tuned for more information on our 3D Origami Swan Workshop that will be a two part session in May and June.
