Save the Date for Ladies’ Night

With construction complete, the backdrop is set for the major summer street events in town.

Following this week’s car show comes the popular August 4th event – Ladies’ Night. With some returning crowd favourites and exciting new additions, organizers are expecting more vendors than ever with a wide variety of booths and with a celebrity host and demonstration events to entertain the crowd, and special features offered by our downtown shops.

Returning this year is the crowd favourite Fashion show hosted by Oasis Boutique’s Nancy Fallis, featuring fashion-forward styles modelled by local lovelies. Also returning are a wide variety of fashion items including jewellery, makeup and clothing from local entrepreneurs.

There are also several new vendors signed up this year, and organizers report that there are so many vendors registered that the booths will spill into neighbouring streets from King Street. Among the new vendors is Harley Davidson’s Longley store, a local kitchen designer, a yoga instructor, home décor offerings from local shop Two Sisters.

To help achieve total relaxation, a staff at a massage therapy booth will offer mini-massages, and there will be opportunities to learn to paint: transform a piece of furniture with Van Gogh, create your own canvas with Spills and Spatters, or sign up for an art class at Valerie Kent’s Cavan Art Academy.

To keep your energy up, food will be available from local restaurants- Madison’s Grill, the Pastry Peddler, Vessey’s Pizza, the Lions’ food truck, the Legion and Parkway Catering’s signature red Chevrolet car and trailer, and there will also be food to take home from local sources, including Puddleduck Farms.

The most exciting new feature of the evening is the host. Terry Chisholm, is an award-winning tribute artist and musician, known as “The Man With The Voice” having twice earned the Canadian National Grand Champion Elvis Tribute Artist.   His act includes tributes to The King, Roy Orbison, the Righteous Brothers, Jay Black & the Americans, Engelbert Humperdinck, Vince Gill and many more. With performances booked throughout Ontario and the United States at a wide variety of public and private functions, organizers were delighted to secure his services for the entire evening as he will act as the evening’s MC and entertainment.

Plan to come to be inspired, entertained and fed by a wide variety of local sources on a lovely summer evening in the picturesque setting of downtown Millbrook. KG
