Reggie’s Hot Grill Serves up Fresh

Reggie’s Hot Grill is a family affair for Steve, Carolyn Effer and their daughters Myra and Abigail, shown above serving happy customers at last month’s Millbrook Farmers’ market.  The couple returned to the area from Toronto seeking to raise their daughters in a small town environment as they had done.  They started a small business doing what they knew best – preparing familiar food from scratch with fresh, local ingredients.

From their humble beginnings in a food truck, they now serve customers at their restaurant in East City on Hunter St., at Farmers’ markets and at special events.  In Peterborough, they even deliver.

Through the last three years they have developed a reputation for quality that has generated calls to bring their mobile operations to events such as Canada Day and the upcoming Air Show, as well as private events including weddings where they have been known to offer a poutine bar.  Once they fire up that grill and fryer, the aroma draws a crowd.
