Peterborough Curling Club Member Competes in National Wheelchair Championships

The 2025 Canadian Wheelchair National Championships begin Monday in Boucherville, Quebec. Peterborough Curling Club member, Karl Allen, will be curling at the Nationals with team Newfoundland and Labrador. Two-time Paralympic medalist Dennis Thiessen, will be skipping the team.

Ten of the twelve provincial competing teams will take to the ice at the Club de Curling de Boucherville beginning April 28, at 4 p.m.

Each team plays in a five-game pool beginning Monday afternoon. At the end of pool play, the top three teams from each pool will advance to a championship round, where they’ll cross over and face opposite pool qualifiers. When the championship round ends, the second and third overall finishers will compete in the semi-final Saturday at 11 a.m. The top championship round finisher will receive a bye to the gold-medal final later that day at 3 p.m.
