Peterborough Curling is excited to welcome new and current curlers to their 150th season of action on the ice.

The Peterborough Curling Club (PPC) is celebrating its 150th Anniversary in the2026/2027 curling season, with the slogan “150 Years: Where Every Stone Tells a Story”. Special events will take place throughout the season, starting with the Community Open House and Try Curling event Saturday, October 17. A full list of events can be found on the club’s website (peterboroughcurlingclub.ca). The hall-way of memories has also been reestablished at the club with many old pictures dating back as far as 1908 plus pictures of the club in the 1960’s and the devastating fire of December 1984.
PCC’s on-line registration (peterboroughcurlingclub.ca) for the 2026/2027 curling season opens for new members September 1st. A walk-in registration and Open House evening takes place at the curling club on September 9th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. League convenors will be on hacnd to answer questions and discuss curling. This includes the convenors of both the adult and youth Learn to Curl programs.
PCC’s popular adult Learn to Curl program has expanded for the upcoming season. There are now three opportunities for adults to learn to curl between mid-October and end of March 2027. The Sunday afternoon LTC league is offering an October 18 to December 20 session, as well as a January 17 to April 4 session. The cost is only $210 for one session. All equipment is provided along with weekly instruction by experienced instructors plus game play. The Sunday leagues also offer instruction on wheelchair curling. On Thursday evenings the adult LTC session goes for the entire curling season, from October 15 to April 1st for a fee of $395, with all equipment provided. Friendly, experienced instructors make the learning fun and help everyone understand the strategy of the game. LTC curlers in Sunday or Thursday leagues have the option of joining in evening, daytime & Sunday leagues after the December holiday break as well as sparing in various leagues.
For youth aged 8 to 18 years PCC has their Sunday morning Junior program. New curlers are split between U12,U15 and U18 leagues. Experienced instructors in small groups help everyone learn to slide the rock down the ice, sweep hard and have fun playing games each week. Practice time is also available. The cost is $215 for the entire season with all equipment provided! Special events, including the family fun day when parents and family members can join the curlers on the ice for a fun day of games, off ice activities and prizes, take place during the season. There are also competitive teams in the league who compete within the club and throughout the area at other curling club bonspiels(tournaments). As curlers become more experienced they may also begin their competitive journey (maybe even to the World Championship).
