A Midsummer Break
The Ganaraska savannah is still dry when we headed toward mid-summer. A little bit of rain fell in late July but not enough to put an end to my constant watering. I have been filling and refilling large plastic olive barrels with water pumped from the creek to water the… Continue reading
Last Farmers’ Market Sunday, October 23
We had a gorgeous fall day for our September market last Sunday. People were strolling about taking in the day’s warmth and sunshine. Jade Daniel Eagleson of Bailieboro took second prize while Cameron Von Criegren of Peterborough took third place in… Continue reading
Is the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence Stupid?
Perhaps it’s our inherent optimism, but a lot of people seem to think that if an advanced species were to land on Earth they’d bend over backwards to help us by sharing their technology. That sure isn’t how it worked here on Earth when a more advanced culture encountered one… Continue reading
Where are They Now? Catching up with Jim Gleason
Jim Gleason first came to Peterborough to study at Trent University. During that time, he met Robert Winslow when the two were performing a student production of “Waiting For Godot” at one of Trent’s venues. By then, Robert was already mulling over an idea for an original play about the… Continue reading
