It was a perfect summer day at last Sunday’s Farmers’ Market. The Old Millbrook School parking lot was a sea of colour. Tables were laden with fresh fruits and vegetables, including cartons of just picked corn. Various hues of honey jars and maple syrup sparkled in the sun, as did buckets of glorious sunflowers. It was a feast for the eyes.
This season’s harvest continues at our next market on Sunday, September 22, 10:00am to 1:00pm. With fall fast approaching, now is the time to stock up on the abundant fresh local produce we have available in our community. Savour the flavours of the season and store some away for those inevitable wintery months ahead.
Relic’s Boat, a local favorite Millbrook band, will be September’s music makers. The used book sale will be running during the market and the Millbrook EarlyOn Child and Family Centre will host StoryTree for Kids starting at 11:00am.
