Pi-Haiku Poem

By Newspaper club member Jordan M.

Escape

They were close

Quick

I matched the speed.

Near

That is where they were

In the forest I ran, they followed.

River

I jumped in the rapids

I tried to get out.

Saw escape

River banks were close

The swift current pushed me closer.

I grasped the jagged edge of the rock

I pulled myself onto it

Escape was so close, but they followed.

MSC Intermediate Girls Volleyball

By Newspaper club member Sydney M.

Intermediate girls’ volleyball was a great hit. All the girls played their hearts out.  The team consisted of Alyssa Kenny, Sydney Mckeown, Landree Gallimore, Skye Tobin, Emma Tower, Freyja Adams, Abby Hatfield, Mikayla Nicols, and of course Mya Fitzgerald. The girls played awesome with a record of 6 wins and 3 losses. The tournament was on Dec 3rd at Adam Scott Public School. And a huge thanks to Madame Falkenberg for teaching the girls lots of skills about volleyball.  Way to go girls!

Junior Volleyball

By Newspaper club member Ava R.

Hi, I am, Ava Reid a grade 7 student of Millbrook South Cavan and I took part in assisting the Jr volleyball competitive team of 201.  During practices we worked on building confidence and skills to prepare for the hard work required on tournament day! Being a junior coach is a great experience and also really fun to do. I feel like it’s a really good chance to learn and observe how I used to feel so pressured when trying out.  I learned that there was no need for that and I encouraged the junior people to feel more welcome to mess up. Our tournament took place December 6th and our hard work paid off!

All the best through the holidays……
