Coaches Restaurant, located on the main street of Bethany, has recently changed ownership and rebranded themselves with the new name of Champions Restaurant.

The business was launched by two principal partners Mittal Patel and Chirag Patel.  Both partners in the new business originate from India, but their restaurant experience was acquired in the golden horseshoe area. Their initial aim is to start slowly with a condensed menu before they expand the menu to include well-loved dishes from their native land.   Among the dishes they will introduce later on are delectable delights such as butter chicken, naan bread, Tandoori meats and lamb kebabs.

They hope to add a patio area sometime in the future and possibly a solar system to save on energy and of course for environmental reasons.

The partners had been searching for a location to start a restaurant when they noticed the “For Sale” sign for Coaches. The locals were sorry to see the former restaurant close its doors but they have welcomed the new Champions owners to the neighborhood.

While starting out, the restauranteurs are focusing on local priorities of good food and good service. They are also making a concerted effort to hire locally so they may integrate into the area as quickly as possible. At the present time, there are two youths working with them, one of them, an IE Weldon High School student, is pictured below.

At the moment, the restaurant is closed on Mondays and open in the evenings on Tuesday to Sunday for pizza and other quick meals and offer breakfast on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

In keeping with Canada’s COVID plan, all of them have their double vaccine jab. They look forward to serving their new community.
