New Hair Salon Coming to Millbrook

Look for a new hair salon opening this month as Chloe Dewhurst opens ReThink Hair offering hair services for all members of the family.

With the province allowing salons to open this week, Chloe Dewhurst’s timing is good.

After working in salons in Peterborough and Bowmanville, Chloe chose to bring her hair styling and colour skills closer to home.  She and her family moved into the new subdivision last year and after a whole lot of encouragement from friends and neighbours Vanessa and Steve Tallis and other downtown merchants, she decided to take the plunge and take her vision to her new home town.

Chloe Dewhurst has an eye for style and she is bringing that fashion sense to her new hair salon, ReThink Hair.  The salon will open in the former location of ladies’ clothing shop, Oasis Boutique located at 26 King St. East in downtown Millbrook.  The space is currently undergoing a dramatic transformation that respects its historic roots, featuring original corbels and high, wood ceilings in historic colours, using clean lines that create an open, airy feel.  The design is intended to create a restful, welcoming space where clients will feel pampered and leave feeling confident in their new look.

The generous facility will house five work stations, and based on customer queries, Dewhurst is considering allocating one to nail service in the future.

As a mother of two young children, Chloe wanted the salon to accommodate all members of the family, so customers of all ages are welcome.  Chloe’s favourite service is colour in all its iterations- from subtle highlights to dramatic streaks and balayage.   In addition to cuts and colour, the salon will also offer wedding and special event updos.  While appointments are encouraged, she hopes to have the flexibility to accommodate drop-in customers as well.  When the doors open mid-July, Chloe will have one other stylist on staff until volumes build to warrant hiring additional staff.

With a background in marketing, Chloe enjoys following current trends and that interest will be reflected in a retail section at the front of the salon.  It will offer personal care products and hair accessories, particularly for weddings.  Customers can also expect to find Canadian-made, on-trend fashion accessories including fedoras and other local products as the salon embraces the local business community.
