The Men’s Football Club has only been competing in the Ontario Soccer League for three years, but what an impression they have made!
In their first year, they placed second in the regional east division, moving up to a first place finish the following year. As a result, the team was moved up a level to the Provincial East Division, which is the second highest level of competitive soccer in the province. That same year, the team took home the Frank Docherty Memorial Cup.
Just to prove they belonged at this level of competition, this year they took first place in the Provincial East Division and have secured this division title as well. Exciting times await the team. The title means that the Cavan Men’s team will be promoted again: next year the team moves up to the Provincial Elite Division, which is the highest level of competition in the province. The Provincial Elite Division will be a challenge for the Cavan Boys but they look forward to that challenge and hope that they can count on our Cavan FC soccer patriots to come out and support the men’s team.
