After a two-year hiatus, the popular Women’s Institute Coffee House is back. These events have a long tradition, where the historical venue welcomes local artists to perform at events that unite the community while raising funds for this not-for-profit organizations. They now take place on Sunday afternoons beginning at 2pm beginning with an Open Mic followed by the feature artists. This month the venue welcomes back the Cajun band Pays d’en Haut. The last time this group performed in Mount Pleasant, they had the audience on their feet. The Cajun style features melody and lyrics based on French Canadian ballads with lively beats. While few may recognize the words, they will certain relate to the rhythm, and will probably have a hard time staying in their seats.
