More Summer Fun at Your Libraries

Summer Programming at the CMLibraries is in full swing! As the summer has progressed, we have altered our programs and schedule slightly. Summer programming will continue until Friday, September 2nd.

Join us every Tuesday at 10:00am at the Bruce Johnston Branch for our STEM Crafts for Kids. Follow up with our No Bake Cooking Club at 11:30am so that kids can learn about food safety while also making delicious food! Our No Bake Cooking Club was so popular in July that we decided to offer an additional day in Millbrook on Wednesdays @ 10:00am! Afterwards, talk to a librarian about getting your own Scavenger Hunt Card for a hike up Medd’s Mountain!

On Thursdays, join us for Storytime (maybe outside) at 10:00am at the Bruce Johnston Branch. Afterwards, participate in our Lego Club for Kids at 11:30am, where your child can participate in a Lego Challenge with other kids. New for August, we will have STEM Crafts for Kids every Friday in Millbrook at 10:00am, followed by our Writer’s Club at 11:30am.

We will be continuing with our Adult Social Group on Thursdays at 1:00pm at the Bruce Johnston Branch. Our Community Threads will run on Saturday, August 20th and Wednesday, August 24thfrom 11:00am until 1:00pm. On Tuesday, August 2nd, the Millbrook Branch is hosting Toonie Tuesday Movie Night, which will play “Percy vs. Goliath”. We are still in the process of determining interest for a Book Club that is run by volunteers, so if you are interested, please fill out the form on our website.

The CMLibraries had its restart of the Cookbook Book Club in July. Strawberries were the theme and the recipes enjoyed by all. On Saturday, August 20th, we will meet again at the Bruce Johnston Branch to sample and discuss our delicious dishes, which incorporate cinnamon. Stop by either branch to sign out a cookbook today!

The CMLibraries will be closed for one week in September. We will close at 3pm on Saturday, September 3rd and will reopen on Tuesday, September 13th.

We are hoping in fall to launch some new programs such as a Book Club and we are gauging interest in an English as a Second Language program.
