To the Township Councillors, the Deputy Mayor and the Mayor:
On Saturday May 3, over 60 volunteers from Cavan Monaghan Township joined together for the Millbrook Valley Trails Workday. This annual event always brings out dedicated users of the trails to help maintain, beautify and improve our network, however, this year’s group was the largest we have ever had.
For over 3 hours on Saturday, these tireless workers as well as members of the Committee itself, repaired bridges and boardwalk, installed new directional signs, cleared fallen limbs and brush from the recent ice storm, picked up garbage, and spread hundreds of metres of fresh mulch across our trails.
It is through this volunteerism and community spirit that we are able to have such an extensive network of trails, enjoyed by countless users throughout the year, and ensure that the Millbrook Valley Trails remains a jewel in the crown of our Township.
I have included some pictures of the day for your review. We thank you and Township staff for your continued support of our efforts.
Sincerely, Robert Jackson, Chair Millbrook Valley Trails Committee
