On Sunday, approximately 130 mountain bike riders arrived at the Millbrook Fairgrounds for another Ganny Enduro race. Riders were treated to beautiful conditions for this event which travelled through the Millbrook Valley Trails. The race consisted of two segments, with the morning ride slightly shorter than the afternoon trip. In between, riders were treated to a noon BBQ at the fairgrounds to recharge and regroup for the second ride.
Enduro races are designed to mimic adventuresome trail rides and consist of multiple timed stages which run predominantly downhill. This particular race included rock gardens and jumps requiring significant effort resulting in a lot of downhill speed, so it is not for the novice rider. Organizers indicated that Cavan-Monaghan has always been a source of strong support for their events, as riding is a popular activity in the area. KG
