Millbrook Medical Centre – At a Crossroad

by: Karen Graham

For the past 42 years, Millbrook has benefited from the presence of a local medical centre occupied by dedicated health professionals serving our community and beyond. The property is held by a not-for-profit organization controlled by a local volunteer Board of Directors who manage the operation and maintenance of this local “gem”, as current Board Chair Dave Williams likes to describe it. The board consists of seven independent members with the recent addition of Mayor John Fallis to keep the township current on the circumstances of the Centre. The township does not and never has had any ownership position in the Medical Centre.

The Millbrook Medical Centre, described by Board Chair Dave Williams as “a local gem”, will lose a tenant this September, putting the operating budget in a deficit position. Photo by Karen Graham
