What a difference the main street is from my last report. It is beautiful in downtown Millbrook. Our Legion is keeping very active this summer. We still have the odd Saturday open for rentals. If anyone is thinking about a party or wedding please call the office for availability.

Our fundraiser for Fort McMurray is coming together. The Lions’ Club and the Firemen’s Association are working with us to make it a great success. Please come out and join the fun on August 27 for a community effort to support the people in Fort McMurray. Festivities begin with a pancake breakfast, followed by BBQ for lunch and finally a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7. The evening will close with an elimination dance. Tickets are $10.00per person. Rick and Gallie from the Black Horse Tavern will be providing the music. During the day there will be things for the kids to do. We will have a bouncy castle, coloring contests, funniest hat contest and best decorated bikes. The adults are welcome to join in the fun with their hats and bikes. Small prizes will be given out. The tickets for the Ducky race are on sale at Oasis Tans and the Legion. Prizes will be $200.00, $100.00 and $50.00. Get your tickets early, as there are only 300 Ducks. Come out and cheer for your Duck as it sails down Baxter Creek.

Our bike run was a great success thanks to the riders who came with us and the volunteers that ran it. We are giving the Wounded Warriors a $2000.00 donation this year.

As you can see there are a lot of things happening over the summer. Please come out and support your legion.
