With summer just about over and fall coming I hope everyone had a great holiday. The kids are heading back to school.
We at the Legion have been very busy preparing for the Fort McMurray fundraiser along with the Millbrook Lions and the Firemen. It has been a lot of work for the three clubs, but well worth it. I would like to thank all who helped make this a success. The Duck Race was very entertaining with 300 yellow rubber ducks floating down the creek and the kids in the water right behind them. First Prize was awarded to George Hawkins, the second to Dave Drew the third prize was taken by Arlene Watson.
The Elimination Dance that evening was a sold out affair. Prizes for the elimination dance went first to Wayne Blaby, second to Lisa Deyell and the third to Lorraine Saunders.
Thanks to all the volunteers for a job well done.
We held our monthly Pub Sunday this week where we served 85 diners entertained with great country music.
Ladies’ Night was a big success. The event just keeps getting bigger and better. A big thank you, to everyone who supported the Legion by joining us for dinner.
September 9th is our Pub Friday. We will be serving ¼ chicken and fries. Come join us on the patio. This will be followed by euchre in the upstairs clubroom.
Again I can’t stress enough the importance of your support for this Legion to continue to operate.
