Millbrook Legion Announces Launch of Local Veteran Banner Program

As Remembrance Day nears, numerous communities across Canada have adopted and will proudly display Honour Our Veterans banner programs similar to the one in Uxbridge, Ontario, pictured above. This program engages the community in honouring and remembering local veterans to ensure continued recognition and respect throughout future generations. The program brings faces to veterans who have served or are currently serving in the Canadian, Allied or Commonwealth Forces and have a tie to the areas in which the banners are displayed.

Royal Canadian Legion Millbrook, Branch 402 is proud to announce their plan to implement this program for Remembrance Day 2023 with banners to be displayed on lamp posts throughout the downtown area. Banners will generally be sponsored and owned by family members who wish to honour their loved ones. They will be kept at the Legion for display each year and will be double sided and in full colour with a picture of the service person, the

era served, branch of service and rank along with the name of the sponsor. RCL Branch 402, the Township of Cavan Monaghan and the Millbrook BIA are all engaged in the project and their logos will be included.

Applications will be available at
the Legion after November 5, 2022. Lest We Forget
